Some people find their calling early.
They go into a profession right after their studies, and that’s what they do for the rest of their working life.
Well, that’s not me.
First I was a sports reporter and then a foreign affairs journalist in my home country Italy.
In 2008 I left for Thailand, to become a freelance correspondent for multiple media.
Almost for fun, I started teaching Italian and doing voice-overs for tens of audio projects.
Later I moved on to teaching English, first to private students and then at one of the best colleges in Bangkok.
As I can’t stand still, I even created and hosted over 50 quiz nights in pubs and professional clubs.
Which brings me to where and what I am today. Where? In Bonn, Germany; back to Europe, after 15 years in Asia. Doing what? Not a journalist. Not a voice-over actor. Not a university teacher. In a way, of mix of them all…
I teach public speaking, to individuals and corporate groups.
I see this as the culmination of three decades spent studying and working in the communication sector. It’s something that fuses the expertise gained in all of my professional stages.
As an experienced journalist, I know how to structure an engaging story and tailor it to my audience. Recording hundreds of radio pieces and audio projects, I’ve learned how to use the power of my voice effectively. And talking to thousands of students helped me develop a stage presence.
And you know what? I’m an introvert at heart. People who see me talk in public don’t believe me when I say that. But I can assure you: even when I look confident with a microphone, the anxiety is there. I’ve just learned how to turn it in positive energy.
I can teach you how to do that, too. It’s difficult, I know. But two skills define me: my curiosity, and the ability to make difficult things sound more simple. Put them together with these diverse working experiences, and you get an eclectic and problem-solving approach to what you need.
